I am seeing a new issue in Franchise since downloading the patch yesterday.  If I try to substitute a player in from the Edit Lines menu, the game freezes.  It appears that it is only when trying to substitute a player in that is scratched.  If I go in to substitute them in, but first dress the player and then select substitute.....so far it is not freezing.  But if they are scratched and I select them it freezes the game and I have to restart NHL 21.  This only started happening after downloading the patch yesterday.  It did not happen a single time before that.

We are looking into it. here is a tweet from the Community Manager:

We're aware of a critical issue when substituting players in your lineup within Franchise Mode. The team is working through the details and aiming to get a fix out as soon as we can. We will follow up once we have an ETA

    @EA_Blueberry You guys "Still looking into it"? Longest update to fix something so small is probably gonna take the same amount of time to come out with another patch. Fix the game yo not hut packs

    I have to agree with everyone. BAP is entirely too easy to advance. The rosters wind up getting all kinds of screwed up, teams letting elite young free agents walk in free agency for no apparent reason. I also think it was a little foolish to get rid of starting in the CHL for a full season, and not being able to work your way up through juniors or even the AHL. Instead, it’s entirely too easy to become a star. The salary perks were a nice touch, but I would GLADLY trade them all for a more realistic experience. Game play is definitely a little better, but I’m still having a problem with some of my D bee lining straight to the corner only to get tied up and lose the puck. My biggest complaint is ...  why in the hell is there no transactions menu for BAP? Why would I not wanna know who my team drafts or who they trade away or who they sign..  or all the other teams and their transactions??? I’m sorry, but that’s just lazy not to include that. To me, that this mode wasn’t tested and critiqued, but rushed. And I get it, dealing with a pandemic. But to me, that’s something so simple that I guarantee EVERYONE who plays BAP complains about. 
    my personal opinion, and I could be wrong, is that EA is missing their demographic when it comes to Be A Pro. It feels like this mode was designed for younger kids, and I happen to know a lot of older people that play this mode. Less emphasis on HUT and more attention to detail on BAP and Franchise.

      @darlz0828 They definitely missed their demographic. I’ve been saying for weeks, they’re pandering to the younger kids instead of their actual dedicated fan base that have been playing the game for years and years.
      The BAP wasn’t in a state to be released. It was definitely very bugged and very rushed, and full of idiotic decisions ie the removal of jr seasons etc.
      The fact that we can become captain and a superstar without any actual effort is downright ridiculous.
      HUT has ruined the series. They’ve put all their resources into marketing it for younger kids, and exposing them to gambling. That’s all that the HUT packs are. It’s a loot box. They got fined in the Netherlands for this and I hope they get fined again and it gets removed. Just like the removal of the loot boxes in Star Wars battlefront.
      With HUT, they will never pay any attention to the features we ask for in this thread, or have been asking for, for years, since they took BAP in the opposite direction and ruined it
