Forum Discussion
Not to sound rude here because I know you're trying to help and answer the questions and I think we all appreciate you taking this time to help us. However I don't believe you are on the same page as us with what question we are asking.
We all are aware the US Development and KHL as well as other leagues that EA doesn't have the rights to can not be added into the game until the play in the NHL to give you the rights to them. This is what you have been telling us repeatedly. HOWEVER that is not the issue we are even talking about.
We are asking about the prospects in the OHL/WHL/QMJHL/SHL/LIIGA and all the other leagues that EA does have in the game already. If I can draft Stutzle and Drysdale in the 2020 Franchise mode draft then you CLEARLY have the rights to that player. At the start of NHL 20 / NHL 19 / NHL 18 / NHL 17 the players from the leagues of which EA holds rights with were all assigned to their respective draft teams. For example Nick Robertson from the OHL Peterborough Pete's was added over to the Maple Leafs at launch last year because he was drafted by the team!
We are simply asking of you or any other EA rep that will understand our question if these players in leagues that EA has the rights to will be assigned to their teams when the first roster update is out?
I urge you to carefully read the question as I feel you're frustration with this misunderstanding has caused for less attentive replies. I wrote a very clear reply previous to which a very blanket and brush off reply was generated. I ask just take a moment read what I am saying and then take some looking into these rules and you will see we are correct and maybe you can just confirm this update will happen with the first roster update.
I'm trying to find this out for you. When I have some details, I'll post a response.

I have some news for you on this. In previous years we have 3 months to put together an update and assign all the players. Since the draft happened a couple of days before release, it's going to take time to make that happen. We have an update planned, but I don't have a date on when that will drop.

@EA_AljoNice to see we are finally on the same page and thank you for that reply! That makes sense now.

- 6 years ago@EA_Aljo No problem. Apologies if we were a bit harsh at times.

No apology necessary, but it's certainly appreciated. Just glad we could get this worked out. If you have any other issues, let us know.

Thanks a lot for the answer ! Glad that we finally are all on the same page
- 6 years ago@EA_Aljo You say it was a couple days but there is a ten day difference between release date and draft date, 7 between the draft and the preorder early access. The fact that you don't even have a date as to when it will be done shows the lack of effort we as players have come to expect from the NHL titles. Work some overtime or something. For a sports game, the rosters being correct is everything and if you can't get it right on launch day...

Yeah thats so much right. I can understand that not everything is up to date cause of the pandemic but having a base roster that included the latest draft should be a priority for a sport game. Its not like it was a surprise , since mid-july we all know the draft was the first week of october , so if you cant release a game with a minimum of up to date release your game later there is no rush there wont be NHL season before 2021.But no EA need so much to cash out with HUT they have to release this version. We pay like 100$ to have basicly NHL 20 with new music right now. I dont want te be harsh against the ea reprensatative who answer us because its not fault but that suck so much. At least the minimum could be to have a date for the first roster but they cant even give us that. I buy NHL on release day since NHL 10 but this is the last time I pay full price for this game , I always find a way to be positive about every new game and not complain but this year I feel so rip off by EA....

They use Lafreniere on their insta for marketing purpose and his right isnt even on the Rangers roster at launch. Thats so screw up from EA
- 6 years ago
They sure can have lafriniere on the rangers as a hut cars tho the day the game comes out

Yeah, they clearly don’t care. I know PC mods that do things with madden, and FIFA that would blow your mind. And they are not even developers. It would take one of these guys 1 hour tops to add draft rights to players currently IN THE GAME and move free agents. They can have a HUT card with Lafranierre in the game at launch even though the draft was a week ago, but can’t have his rights assigned to the team he is on because of “not having enough time”. If you believe that I have beach front property in Arizona to sell you. So disappointed with this release, and I have been singing this Dev’s teams praises on operation sports for years

this is a great point about EA managing to put Lafrenieere in Rangers HUT gear but not getting franchise rosters right. We all know what the answer is. It's money. If it don't generate money for EA, EA don't care.
