I only play CHEL and Be A Pro, but I can assure you in older games ( 19-20-21) Be A Pro the AI does indeed fight. In one instance in NHL 20 I had a full line brawl going, 3 v 3.And in NHL 21 Be A Pro I was watching my line mate fight and suddenly the AI came up and challenged me, and bam we had two going at once. I can attest that the AI does indeed fight in Be A Pro. It will only initiate fights post whistle, and or respond to hits and the enforcer engine however. The AI will not cross check or issue face-off fight challenges, it will however as mentioned above respond to enforcer engine challenges from hits and during post-whistle scrums like mentioned above. It's rare, and you need to have the right players on the ice for it to happen. But if you can get multiple goons/enforcers or tough " often " fighter players out at the same time , it's possible for CPU fights whether it be one fight or even multiple. Have not found out about if this is the case in NHL22 however, I'll let you know.

Thanks man, appreciate it. I don’t play any other mode except Season Cpu vs Cpu (Roster creator and realism freak) however that is wild about your Be A Pro fights…I’m hoping as you said with enough “Often” ability on Fighting or “Enforcer” rating that the Cpu will go here and there though I’m not optimistic…shame
But if you see any fights Cpu vs Cpu shout out, I have a small sample so none as of yet but still hoping.
Dont know why Ea has seemingly removed this…it’s realism ..but that’s EA

Watched bout 12 games they don’t fight…EA coded them out..why no idea, certainly not realistic..

Yes I’ve seen fights in Franchise Mode- Thanks for replying..
But “Season Mode” is where I believe EA took Cpu vs Cpu fights out of the games…if you happen to stumble across some drop me a line as all I do is Season Mode because of the ability to have multiple teams…I create rosters and coach only- so the absence of fights would be a killer..
why EA continues to do these things is so frustrating…
Thanks..
I do a lot of CPU vs CPU in Franchise Mode, and NHL21 definitely had fights, usually after a big hit.
I have watched a lot of games but yet everytime the Goalie stops the puck they just grab each other for like 2 seconds and let go and the game continues only after a big hit have I seen them fight
Have seen fights happen that didn't happen because of a hit

I think you can change the settings little to get more CPU vs CPU fights.
How often the fights will happen and maybe amp up the amount of checkings and penaltys could help.
If you are doing an old roster, you could choose to have the player settings to fight often to increase it more.
Because I do think that with ordinary EA settings you wont see CPU vs CPU so often.
