NHL games player updates

I'm interesteing in purchasing NHL 15 but I have one question.  Does EA continue to update player skills after the game is out?  Like for example if a certain player imporoves tremendously or vice versa, is this real life occurrence reflected at all in the video game?  If yes, how many months/years of such updates does EA guarantee?

It is important to me that when I play a hockey game, it is as close to real life as possible.
