Hello, everyone. Normally when you can't sim past a specific date, it means the save file is corrupt. You can try loading an earlier save to see if that may work. If you're on Xbox, you can try deleting the personal saved data, but I can't guarantee you wouldn't lose your offline saves. To delete it you highlight the NHL tile, hit the Menu button (the one to the right of the guide button), go to Manage game & add-ons > Saved Data. Delete the file for your gamertag. For PS4, you can try rebuilding the database and restoring licenses.
After these steps, if you still have the same issue, most likely you'll need to start over. Always make sure you save and quit instead of letting your system go into sleep mode, switching to another app/game or just powering it down. Saving and quitting has the best chance of not causing any data corruption.
Sorry for the trouble, everyone. I know it's incredibly frustrating to lose your progress ☹️

So is there going to be an actual way to fix this? It's no fun if you go into a season wondering if you'll be able to get through it or if it will just start freezing and crashing at a certain point. There's no way we can just be told to "start over". Hopefully there is some help out there. Thanks.

The only thing that may help is deleting the personal saved data like I suggested. There's no way to tell ahead of time if it's going to happen or not. Save and quitting can help avoid it though. I wish there was a way to fix this, but in most cases, you need to start over. It's definitely worth trying though.
