Now we need a patch to fix the patch, that was supposed to fix the patch
Ok, so I'm not sure what "improvements" they thought they made, or if these things were even tested before released or what...but the patch meant to fix things they broke last patch...not only didn't solve the problems...but created a whole host of others. We lost all 6 games we played last night...now, there were 2 of the six we played like crap: undisciplined, we had a few defensive lapses...it happens. The other 4 however...
1- Cross crease cheese got through WAY more than it has all year. Clipping through skates and sticks, and even bodies.
2- Defensive play appears to have been nerfed yet again, with pokes clipping through the puck, defensive minded players refusing to acknowledge the open puck
3- and this is the big one: WTF did you do to goalie reaction time?? There were 6 goals last night where the puck moved at a snail's pace...and the goalie doesn't react to it at all. No tracking, nothing.
4- Deflections are now unrealistic- Back to pokechecks(when they do register) sending pucks the completely wrong direction they should go in(typically taking the unrealistic bounce right back to the offensive player). Last night there was a shot that hit a stick, bounced straight down, hit the ice then in a tennis ball-like fashion bounced up about 3 feet arcing towards the net(where it gained this forward momentum is unknown), not out of the goalie's LoS at all and...well, see point 3.
5- Skating- specifically turns...instead of doing smooth curls...for whatever reason your player now stops, plants, pivots and THEN goes. Again, from the defensive perspective/not having the puck
6- Nonsense incidental contact penalties...these have yet again gotten worse. Egregious charges and boarding is ignored while completely harmless, non disruptive incidental contact is being called for interference. For example, last night I was called for interference...when the player skated into me. I was gliding, right thumb resting by my headphone jack.
Videos will be posted soon, and this is first hand experience from last night's games.
