What happens when the bug occurs? Overtime rules change during the playoffs in European leagues. Not played NHL playoffs yet.
What do you expect to see? Same overtime rules in every playoff game.

I've played European leagues. I control every team, sim the regular season and play only playoffs. In German DEL league the second game of Straubing and Berlin went to overtime. They played a short 3 on 3 overtime with shootout. After that the second game of Köln and Iserlohn went to overtime. They played a continuous overtime, as it should be. Same thing happened in Finnish Liiga in a couple of games. Different teams, different overtime rules. Is there any game mode that's not ruined by this kind of bugs?
