EA could also brighten up the HUT challenges. The HUT challenges are the same boring thing every single event.
Hey, @TicRic08
Thanks for taking time out to write out the areas of the game you want to see improvement around. Welcome to the forums, too!
If you were in the driver's seat in creating HUT challenges, what would they look like to you?
Thank you for replying to my concerns,
If I were to create HUT challenges, I would make the AI harder to engage players to have to play the whole 1 or 2 minute periods. I find the hitting challenge very hard when on Pro difficulty or lower because the players are so slow and not advanced enough to be in a position where there they have to take a hit to make a play. The all-star and superstar bots are easier to get hits against, but they make every other objective more difficult which makes it more fun and rewarding. I think if the AI difficulty is raised more, people HUT challenges would have a big popularity if someone wants to build their team offline.
HUT challenges could also have better rewards, but it would have to be a longer proccess to get the rewards. For example, I would have a 15 game long for each event challenge beginning on All star and finishing on Superstar. The challenge event will last two weeks, but it would reset after the first week for the new selection of cards that would come out like every other card event in NHL 22. It would just be longer and harder. I think players should get the best rewards from HUT Challenges and HUT champions because they take the most skill and time to finish with my new HUT challenges. It would make people "play to earn" instead of "pay to earn", which is what the game should be about.
Going along with rewards, I think player lock challenges would be new and interesting. Say a new an NHL playoff event came out with 6 different cards. Instead of people buying packs in the store to use those players for collectibles, there could be player lock challenges. The gamer would have to do a player lock challenge with each player in the event(once or twice with each player) and when they are finished they could get a choice pack with players from the event or a pack from the event that is in the store.
I hope this helps in any way. I feel like the challenges would really go a long way in making HUT more fun and less pay to win.

No problem! We do our best to respond to as many posts as we can but sometimes with time constraints we have to focus on reading as much as we can so feedback can be passed along to the team. We've got eyeballs on these forums so voices are definitely being heard.
Regarding the HUT AI, I think what you're conveying are thoughts other players have brought up how difficulties seem inconsistent. We'll let the team know we're still observing this feedback on the forums. AI could always see improvement and the team is continually doing this year after year. A lot of times players won't notice the changes year to year, but if you go back 5 NHLs and play one you'll see more significant differences on how they react to situations. Making them harder could feel grindy for challenges though, don't you think? I've seen feedback from players in the past how there are too many games required to play so I am a little weary on making the AI more difficult. If someone were to fail a challenge after a few tries on a continuous basis it could start to feel like a chore?
I agree the best HUT Rewards should come from HUT Champions because of it's competitive landscape. We'll let the team know you want to see similar rewards scaled up for HUT Challenges.
Love the idea about player lock challenges and will pass that along. There is a similar challenge in Madden 22 with campaign players.
Thank you for your thoughts and best of luck to you on the ice this weekend!
