Poor ping/connection

Why over the last couple weeks have the pings and connections gotten so bad? I just had the worst game in years with a ping over 8000. Used best game location and that's what I got.

Yea which is in Montreal... why  would I connect to a central server if I’m in Toronto in the east

Ohio is closer than Montreal. That's why you're connecting there instead.

    I’m like 5 hours away from Montreal.. I’m almost 7 hours away from Ohio how does that make any sense?

    Driving to Ohio would be longer than driving to Montreal, but the actual distance, in a straight line, from Toronto to Ohio is shorter than Toronto to Montreal.
