I started the new game mode, live the life. And its great but I was drafted and I am in September and I keep trying to simulate day to day and it freezes repeatedly on the same day. And I know its not my console(ps3) because all my other games work beautifully. What do I do?

Before I escalate this, could you guys tell me at which specific point of the game it freezes? For instance, is it in a menu, when undertaking an action, or just when passing from one day to another?Any other detail you think might be relevant, please include it. 🙂

I understand that you're trying to help, but a response of "don't get sent down" is very frustrating, as the game isn't giving us (those experiencing the bug), the chance not to get sent down.I started my Life the Life at the NHL Draft, which means I play 4 Memorial Cup games, then I head into the draft. I was drafted first overall by the Colorado Avalanche. I get signed, and the game Auto-Sims to the pre-season. About 4-5 days before the first pre-season game starts I get notified that I'm getting sent down to the minors. In previous NHL games you were guaranteed at least 1 pre-season game before getting sent down, and if that's a new thing for this year, that's fine, however I'm 18 years old getting sent to the AHL, and not back to my CHL team. This could be part of the issue. The game then auto-simulates to the day of the first pre-season game and promptly freezes.

My frustration is that when EA advertises Live the Life as a major marketing point in the game, it should at least work. To pull the emotional strings here, my 9-year old hockey player has been saving, doing extra chores around the house, and pet-sitting for neighbors to save up for this game on release day. His motivation: the chance to Live the LIfe. It's hard to explain to your 9-year old why the game doesn't work the first night he tries it after all of that anticipation.The fact that this mode locks up is inexcusable from a developer standpoint. However, it doesn't end there. The mistakes, typos, generic responses, and confusing "likeability" impact of your responses tells me a lot more effort should have been put into this mode before it was included in the game. Additionally, some of the gameplay decisions are equally confusing. For example, why would a team spend a #1 draft choice on a player and send him down to the minors prior to even playing a preseason game?If this is the wrong forum to grab the ear of EA, then please point me to the right place. I've posted similar content in the other EA forum and haven't seen a response from anyone at EA despite numerous threads and dozens of posts from players experiencing the exact same problem. At least here, you're willing to participate in the discussion and pass our feedback up the chain.

I started as a 16 year old sniper in WHL. Get drafted 1st overall by the Capitals and get sent back to junior hockey without seeing any preseason games listed on the calendar. I played the next season and once again, I get sent back to junior hockey without seeing any preseason games. I played through the next season (now 19 year old) and stopped the simulation on September 1st. I then simmed 1 day at a time and was finally able to play all but the last preseason game with the Capitals. Every time I try to play the last preseason game, the PS3 locks up. Every time I attempt to sim past the last preseason game I get sent back to junior hockey. The last time I changed the setting for shooting to score more points in the hopes of earning enough experience points to stay in the NHL but it still didn't help. I've used several save points to play the preseason 3 times averaging about 18 goals and 7 assists each time but I keep getting sent back to junior hockey. Are these glitches ever going to be fixed? Is anyone even working on fixing it?

Sort this out please EA.

With a glitch this huge its almost as though you didn't even test it.

Waste your time making aniversary mode all you want, the winter classic (what a waste of a mode that is) and the severe lack of instructions (say for new comers to GM mode) BUT MY GOD, test what you make, and make the 'real' game modes (season, LtL, etc) and general gameplay work first.

For players like myself who treat Live the Life as a RPG, having to just throw our character away because the game decided that it wanted to freeze and theres no fix for it it very painful. We worked for every goal, hit assist and our player now has his own background, highlights that weve saved- each with a story. We are 'living the life' and then because you didnt make a glitch free game (which you havent done for years- I mean look a this crap its a joke http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6c071yZBOfQ) we have to just erase everything and go back to square one PRAYING it doesnt freeze again.

Just work a little harder please. Also its been a WEEK since it released and you havent even got a single patch out?! What the hell are you doing with our money? If there were a rival Ice Hockey game developer you wouldnt be able to send out such unfinished crap. Sort it out.

Mine keeps freezing at the final pre-season game. When I try to play it, it freezes, but if I sim to the next day it sims it fine but I get sent down for not performing well enough (6 games, 15 goals and 4 passes...ya). Then if I start to sim it manually it suddelnly changes to WHL game and not the NHL pre-season game it was supposed to be... thats where your glitch is, FIX IT!

Same issue on Xbox360, quite surprising/sad of a freeze glitch at te beginning of a new mode. Freeze while enterin draft, after playing games & is always stopping at sim between Sept 20 & 21, 2013. Getting sent to minors doesn't appear to matter, I've been drafted #1 a couple times out of the 20-25 times I've restarted a career & always the same. Pretty disappointing to go so long w/o being able to play the only mode I even bought this version for....but I'm sure we'll be compensated for the delay....yeah...... ☹️

Mine is freezing in pre season, right after 1 game on September 14. When I try simulating to the next game be a pro assistance window appears, I press circle (playing ps3) and it freezes. I hear music, it allows me to get out of the game but never sims till the next day. So much embarrassing that such glitch even exists, not saying that nobody does nothing to fix it. Bad work, EA.

I am at the point of just wanting my money back. I cannot even play 2 games in live the life without it freezing. I really only play live the life as the online experience for someone wanting to be goalie is poor. any ETA or anything like that. mine just stops mid game. image is frozen and nothing happens. happen all the time so it is not like once in a while. other games work fine. thank you

I hope this get's fixed soon. The real NHL season starts tomorrow!
I was killing it in "Live the life" mode just like everyone else and then I get sent down to the minors? WTF? C'mon EA!

Hi, This just happened to me September 30th. I noticed that this thread has not been updated, unless I missed it. Is their a fix for this. It's very frustrating to see that this has happened to others.
