When does the syncing issue happen? Does it always happen under the same conditions? If this is happening when there's a faceoff, what occurred right before that? Was there a penalty or a goal scored? If you have any of those details, it would help.
Something else you can both try is deleting the personal saved data for NHL 22. This runs the risk of deleting your offline saves and progress as well as any changes to settings you've made. Normally that all downloads from the cloud, but I can't guarantee that will happen. If you want to try this, go to Settings/Storage/System storage/Saved Data. Locate NHL22 and delete the saved data.
It might be good to try switching up any customizations you have. Jersey, arena, C, A, etc. Just in case there's a particular customization that could be causing this.
