Re: Is NHL 14: Live the Life broken?

well I have had a similar experience, I started in the CHL, as a Defense men, I won the scoring title by about 40 or so points, won the memorial cup, got MVP of that, and pretty much won all but 1 or 2 awards for the regular season, got drafted 1st overall. all my ratings for GM family fans and team were 98 or higher. most being at 100. Played 4 or 5 preseason games had 12-14 points, leading my team and I got send back to the CHL, so yes be a pro is broken.

and if you are looking for answers on here, good luck because no one from EA seems to care..

No.. I`m looking less for responses from them.. and more from other players.

So how is it making the choices then?  Is it scripted to happen regardless of my performance?   Is being sent back to AHL scripted to always 100% of the time happen?

The bigger question is.. is there anything I can do to avoid it from happening?  I didn't save my game.   I had played  3 games in a row.. that I didn't save.  So when I load from my last save , I'll be three games back from when the game sent me down..

Is it Random?  Becuse of it`s random, maybe the fact I just didn't save and reload from my last save, will be enough to prevent me from being sent down.  But if it`s  Scripted and this happens 100% of the time.. then I`m screwed.

Curious to know if you all think it`s scripted to happen.. or Random?

**bleep** EA!!!! yes agreed there is a flaw with the live the life. I have learned that if your the type to put all the sliders on your team your going to have to keep producing high amount of points every game. If you start falling off track they will cut you. If you leave the sliders but leave it on rookie settings, you wont get as many goals but at least your not expected to get 2 hatties in a game. Watch your ice time. get off as soon as you see it flash they dont like you having extra time on the ice.

I apologize that I can't tell you exactly why you are having your issue.  I know that you are not the first person to have this problem, as I've seen (and posted in) another, much longer thread regarding this same topic.

I can say that I, myself, have not encountered this issue.  I started my character in the OHL and played an entire season's worth of games, including the playoffs and the memorial cup.  I was then drafted and played the preseason games.  After being successful in the preseason games, I started on the third line and quickly worked my way up to the first line.  It's now mid-February for my character in his rookie year and I've played all games up to this point.  Everything seems to be fine for me in terms of not getting sent down.

No one seems to know why this problem is happening.  I tried to find a common thread among all the people who are, though, and nothing seems to really stand out.  People's characters are doing quite well in goals and assists, so that's not it.  Some people's characters have lower overall ratings while others have higher overall ratings, so it doesn't seem like your character's numerical rating is what matters.  I have to feel like it's definitely a scripted event.  Some condition in the game code is being met to trigger your character getting sent down.  Why is it triggering?  Who knows why, but keep in mind this game does have some pretty nasty bugs.  Case in point: I'd refer to you my post history and my recent and fervent crusade against complete stat point loss due to off-ice events that give you free stat points.

Anyway, I'm aware that this doesn't help you very much in figuring out why it's happening.  The one thing I would suggest doing, however, is keeping at least two saves, and save often.  When you play, "leapfrog" your saves.  Meaning, you save the game in save A and then play game 1.  After game 1, save the game in save B.  Play game 2.  Save the game in save A.  Play game 3.  Save the game in save B.  Continue this process.  Heck, if you have the space, maybe even make a new save after every game, although that's a little ridiculous, I know.  The point is, keep more than one save to protect yourself from nasty surprises, or to test things out.  I noticed you said you saved like three games ago.  That's too long without a save.  Protect yourself and save often.  🙂

Testing things out might help you determine if you can trigger things.  If you play game X and get sent down, you can always reload the save right before game X.  Play game X again and see what happens that time.  Also note your in-game performance and grades for positioning, team play, and stats.  Perhaps you can find a pattern.

    Good luck!
