Check again because mine is now working
@DannehhhDare you on PS5? Mine still has the lock on it and the game page still only gives me the option to buy the game and not play it.

Hey, everyone. We're still investigating this. As soon as I have some news, I'll post it here.

Yeah I am on PS5, I logged on earlier and it is unlocked again for me now, so strange!
Did you do anything that might have solved it for you?
How close are you? Please give an estimate. I have 7 days left on my ea play and there is no way I am paying for another month with this issue but I also don’t expect to have to have paid for that whole month and not get to finish my nhl trial.
can you give us temporary access to nhl 22 before you fix it?
FYI. This was the exact same ongoing problem for PlayStation players in North America for the Fifa 22 trial over a month ago. EA had the same responses then, and ever fixed anything. Lasted over a month of messages from a LOT of people and it never got fixed. So assume you will do nothing for us. Sad. I see now that this is just a way of prolonging the issue until customers give up. It was never solved for the FIFA players either. See link for that thread

That is downright embarassing, but also a little odd. Funny how EA reps were answering and looking into it and then all of a sudden disappear. It's odd because the FIFA 22 trial seems to work on my EA Play but people on that forum say it does not work for them. I wonder if for those who started the trial before the release that of the game got locked out but those who did not play it before the release date can still download and play it now? Again, us customers should not be the ones inferring and trying the problem solve more than actual EA employees but whatever, what can you do.
On a side note, feel free to write a complaint to the Better Business Bureau about EA's antics. Here is their page: https://www.bbb.org/us/ca/redwood-city/profile/wholesale-video-games/electronic-arts-inc-1116-64196
At the end of the day, the customers should not have to deal with this and it should not take this long to solve the issue. The fact that the same issue occured with FIFA weeks prior is also not a good look for EA. At the very least, we should be entitled to some sort of compensation but that is highly doubtful with EA.

I responded 3 days ago saying this was still being looked into. Then, I had the weekend off. As soon as I have some news, I'll post an update. Unfortunately, I don't have anything new yet.
the EA Play system tracking the trial period cannot be so complex as to take more than half a month to investigate. Just check our access logs and fix the error in the database. I'm really worried that EA isn't working to fix it, and the support that assures us here that the problem is being resolved may have simply established a request to fix the problem. And in the past, no one has addressed this issue yet.

Your responses have always been beating around the bush. Even your very first response to my post didn't even acknowledge the facts that I stated and then proceed to provide explanations that are not even relevant. Finally, there is enough of us complaining to get the issue looked in to and now all you're doing is waiting for an update. It has been 17 days and counting now and that should even make you realize that this has gone on for way too long. Remember that monthly subscription only lasts a month. Put yourself in our shoes for a minute. You haven't asked anyone if we should get compensated or fought for our compensation. You did not acknowledge the exact same issue that happened in FIFA nor looked if there is some correlation with that issue and this one. If you think you're doing enough to help your customers then so be it, but currently, you are not putting up a good image for the company. Who knows if you even read these blocks of text, you don't even respond to any of the points that are being made.

Just thought I’d post this here. Had an issue with Disney+ today. Went on chat with their customer support. Ran me quickly through troubleshooting…immediately moved me up to higher management (big difference there) said it’s a known issue that they will fix immediately. Without me saying a thing, they instantly offered me credit for a month of Disney plus for the trouble. This whole thing took about 5 minutes. Meanwhile….EA support is EA support. So different getting support that cared.

My ea play expires on Friday. Three days from now. I’m not expecting to hear back from you with a solution by then as I’ve given up hope, which seems to be the game plan. But just know I will be cancelling ea play and never subscribing again and I will keep hounding this thread to see if this is actually ever looked into properly and solved for all the players who are still hoping for a fix.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the trial might actually work for new EA Play subscribers. Looking at that FIFA 22 thread, people in there are saying their trials are not working still to this day but when I look at the FIFA 22 page on my EA Play, I can download the trial and presumably play it. So, I'm assuming if you subscribe to EA Play or maybe download the trial after the official release date of the game, you can still play the trial. I don't want to spend another $5 to test that theory because I shouldn't have to. EA should do it themselves, it doesn't cost them anything but yeah, there's another free piece of troubleshooting that I've done for you. Waiting for any update of the troubleshooting that been going on over there, has been complete radio silence on both this thread and the FIFA one.
On a side note, if anyone does want to take one for the team and be the guinea pig and subscribe to EA Play on an alternate account, I know a method that you can play the trial on your main account so you can access your HUT and what not.

It’s a good theory. Hopefully someone from EA reads this and tries it out. I, for one, will not be giving EA anymore of my money. I truly expect no more responses until all of our subscriptions expire.
It’s just been complete radio silence this whole week. They’re not going to get back to us in any way. I’m 100% submitting to that better business bureau link. It’s just a waiting game for them until we all stop caring.
The fact that you are not even offering some type of temporary compensation or anything is what’s most frustrating to us all. You provide zero info as to what is going on other than “it’s being looked into”. No info about timeframe, no help with people who are about to lose their subscriptions. Nothing. It’s such empty responses.
- 4 years ago@EA_Aljo what has been investigated for so long, you have our access data, search for access logs and compare them with time stamps in the database verifying access to the trial version of NHL 22, if you have a problem with data consistency, please do not pass the problem on to your customers
- 4 years ago
They probably extend fixing it by a day every time someone replies here.
Wait. Damn it.
- 4 years ago@EA_Aljo Same problem here with the trial. I already told the support but I didn't even get an answer. An that's what I am paying for?

Hi, EA Play members.
The latest update we've received is that the team and Sony are hopeful in getting it addressed very soon. When we can confirm the fix was pushed in by Sony to make it available again on the store we'll let you know here. Thank you for hanging in there for us. - 4 years ago
That’s great news, but I’ve lost three weeks of my ea play subscription time waiting for this fix and it expires tmrw. I only paid for it to use this NHL 22 trial which I was not allowed to finish playing. It seems this fix will only come after mine is expired. I should not have to now pay for another month when more than half a month was already taken away from me.
- 4 years ago@EA_Blueberry perhaps very soon does not mean another week of waiting
