Re: re-signing players:franchise mode

You can offer them as many times as you want during the season or the re-sign period. Just keep in mind if your offers are considerably lower than what they are asking for they may change their mind on if they want to re-sign with you. And even if they aren't interested in re-signing with your team, you may still be able to sign them, but you will probably have to overpay.

if i keep on trying to re-sign them during the season and it doesn't go well and they then decided they don't want an extension can i try during the OFF-SEASON or does it mean i have actually 'lost' them because that has happened to me in 'every other' year of the game i have had...the last time was in nhl 19 and i kept on losing players

Any player on an expiring contract has to be signed by July 1st or they will be off your team. The off season re-sign period is right after the draft until July 1st, after that any team will be able to sign them. You could still try and sign them anytime after that during the off season but all teams will be able to try as well.

my point is has E.A kind of adjusted the way players on teams 'think' by making it to where when a team offer's a guy who at one point has decided he now doesn't want an extension to later down the line 'change his mind' then says ok because that hasn't happened in my experience in previous versions of the game franchise
