Re: Will NHL 21 Come Out For PC?

"Besides a sport being popular, there needs to be enough interested PC players to make the release viable."

That's a laughable statement when you're in a thread thats been open and active for 4 months now.
I don't see why EA doesn't just do an Xbox Anywhere version, then it can be played on PC and Xbox for pretty much no additional effort.

Just admit it, EA rarely do what their community wants, creates bad games with microtransactions and makes things worse as they go on.

@LimeyUK It is a bit strange that the response of

"If demand is there, we will do it"

doesn't seem to align with the multiple forum threads, online articles and internet chatter about bringing this game to PC. Also, I have never once seen any open form or survey from EA gauging the PC audiences interest in EA Sports titles like NHL or UFC. Never once. And I've been following Origin/EA PC for over 10 years now. Soooo yeah pretty sus on that one.

Yea it's incredible that they even dare use that excuse to be honest.

When we see petitions for this, it's in the low thousands. We also see the threads started with requests for a PC version of the game. They typically don't generate a large number of individual responses. It's very easy to feel like there are millions of people that want NHL on PC, but we haven't seen evidence to support this yet. Especially when we consider how many fewer PC players there are for bigger sports like soccer and North American football than their console counterparts.

We absolutely want this game to be available on as many platforms as possible. Due to the very high amount of work it takes to create this version as well as the continued resources needed to support it, there has to be enough demand to make that happen. It's not a simple copy and paste and it's done. Hopefully, with cloud gaming getting more popular, we'll see NHL playable on PCs in the not too distant future.

  • If EA dare to even bother with the excuse of gaming that is Cloud Gaming, It would be laughable.

Cloud gaming is a pathetic section of the industry.

It shouldn't need millions of people to petition for it, another feeble excuse. Just a typical EA capitalist excuse.

You evidently don't know of Xbox Anywhere either. It's VERY simple to make an Xbox game on that platform that will then play on PC as well.

The fact you don't even acknowledge this avenue is an insult to the entire PC player base.
