Re: Will there be EASHL and OTP in NHL 15 on xbox one?

My best guess is that the feature was included in the game but it didnt test well on ps4/xb1. This would mean that EA has been working around the clock to try and get the feature working properly but until its fully functional they cant advertise it as being "in the game".

If this is true, they will make an announcement in the coming week or so once they figure it all out. If it doesnt work, they could release a patch down the road but this would mean that they cant advertise it as being an in game feature before it launches.

There are four main reasons why this rumor started and each one has a logical explanation:

1. EA has listed eashl as being a feature for the ps3/360 but has not listed it for ps4/xb1. This could easily be a result of the feature not yet being completed. It could also be because they only listed the improved features for ps4/xb1 while listing the old features for ps3/360. Hut wasn't even announced for ps4/xb1 but we know beyond any doubt that it is in the game because all of the preorder perks are hut based.

2. An unknown tester has "leaked" information confirming that eashl was not in the menu system for the game that he/she tested. This reason is very simple to explain. First, everyone wants to feel important and will say anything to seem relevant. Second, not all features are included in test ready versions of games. This further strengthens my belief that the feature is included but is, or still was, being worked on at the time.

3. A senior mod on EAs forum responded to the community by saying that eashl was in fact on the ps4/xb1 but the thread was immediately deleted. Again, EA has to be careful wih what information is made public in the event that something may change before the final version of the game is ready. This again helps prove my theory that something may have needed tweaking for 1-12 players on the ps4/xb1.

4. And finally, the BestBuy Adam bomb. Best buy listed the ps4/xb1 as being 1-2 players online while having the ps3/360 versions listed as 1-12. There are two possible reasons for this. One is that Best but has listed things incorrectly in the past and will continue to do so till the end of time. The second is the fact that ea has not released any info yet and th info that they did release is misleading. Best buy needs to create ads for their products and must use whatever information is available to them.

    UPDATED:

Retailers such as costco have started posting box art for NHL 15 and it clearly states that the game only supports a maximum of 2 players for network play and 4 players for offline play on the PS4/XB1.

This further supports the theory that the mode did not test well and EA was unable to advertise it as being a part of the game. Box art has to be planned and printed quite some time before the retail release of a game inorder for it to be packaged and shipped.

Let's hope that EA has a day 1 patch planned to save this title. Could a DLC scheme be in the works?

We can all stil hold our breath until EA makes its official statement but its hard for us to remain positive with this latest piece of evidence.

This adds fuel to the fire, but it is not a confirmation. We'll have to wait until the official word comes out on this next week.
