Same Problems in nhl 21

@Kappyboy1 It definitely isn’t worth the money. The skating is smoother. But AI is worse, way worse. Besides that and a couple new dekes, gameplay feels no different.

The offline game modes is where the game really falls short. Extremely short.
The GM AI is the worse I’ve seen in years. They “implemented” the trade deadline gimmick which is very interruptive, buggy, and doesn’t really add anything to the game.
The prospect development/player development is broken beyond belief. The overall fluctuations are insanely unrealistic and don’t make any sense. Having only 1 med top 4 dman out of 17 reach 83ovr is ridiculous. Having a rookie 21yo 80ovr put up 70 pts, jump to 89ovr, then fall down to 80ovr again at the start of next season, after preseason, makes no sense whatsoever.
AI GMs holding onto RFAs like Sergachev, or other star players, having them sit out an entire year because they won’t make room to sign them, or won’t try to trade.

Inability to edit player types/positions, ruined it so we now have to try and work around the awful coach and chemistry system that is worse than previous years. Why make any players TWF/TWD since EA makes them useless in terms of chemistry?

BAP is a joke. They made it for 10yr olds or people who like to cheese it and get picked 1st no matter what, and put up 120pts a season without putting any effort in.

They took out the junior season for stupid unknown reasons. Now we can’t try to earn our spot. Instead we just play 4gp~ and put up 2pts and get selected first overall. No challenge.

After halfway through the season, your likeability meters are maxed. Halfway through you’ve encountered every conversation and they just repeat over and over again. Conversations are still bugged too, breaking save files.

BAP GMs are out of their minds, and don’t pay any attention to the cap. First year in and they blow up their rosters every season. Some teams having 8-10 star players with huge contracts that don’t abide by the cap.

Regardless of settings, you’re a superstar. You’re not allowed to play as a grinder or enforcer. They wiped the AHL/CHL out of existence, so if you play badly you don’t get sent down. You’re just given infinite extra chances.

I can go on and on about how bad the game is this year and how I won’t be buying it anymore, as well as strongly urging my friends and others not to buy it.
