Still skating right by loose pucks

If you had turned with the puck instead of into it, chances are good it would have been picked up. It was bouncing so letting it settle would raise your chances of a pick-up.

Seems like something that could/should easily be addressed, no? 

Puck pickups like this occur dozens of times a night in the real life game, either off the backhand (why I mentioned the stat ratings) or off the skate.

A lot of the game along the boards involves pucks off skates and its a well-used strategy for teams to toss the buck back along the wall behind the opposing net when options dry up or you're under pressure. I had a clean path behind the net and that's what my strats are set to. It's one thing if I make the turn too soon and screw it up myself but this puck should be easily scooped up or at the very least disrupted by the best card in the game with an ability designed for puck retreival

The puck is within reach so It would be good to at least see an attempt to pick it up. I know we're always trying to improve pick-ups. I think they've come a long way over the last several years, but there's always room for improvement. Thanks for the feedback.

I just had another scenario with TOTY Hedman (so a very similar build and same-handedness) but he made the pickup (albeit with a longer trek to where the puck was going so maybe that gave it time to kick in) so maybe it's just something that needs to be focused a little better but I'd say it's something that should almost never occur with high awareness stats. If a 68 misses a pickup that should be as common as them fumbling a pass or missing with a shot but the top cards should be doing all those little things correctly

That was the kicker, Primeau didn't even attempt to move his stick but in this other instance Hedman did even though it ultimately ended up being kicked by his skate (perfect example of what should happen even with a bouncing puck) but I was already mentally prepared to have to turn back and get it since they usually go right by and turn into a cherry opposing rush which would never happen if my guy even slightly disrupts the puck
