Totally agree. The interference calls are way beyond normal. Of all the penalties I have taken in this game. 99% are interference calls. And the truly sad part is. Most are AI generated and away from the initial puck battle between players. This definitely has too be fixed. It is annoying, and takes away enjoyment from playing the game. Just as a final note of emphasis. My player had a break away, and the play was blown down for....you got it. An interference call. Two other things EA has yet to also fix. Offsides and ícing calls. Many a time I have had a player cross the blue line alone, and after making a toe drag or windmill deke it's blown down for offside. Even though the player was fully past the opposing blue line. Come on EA. The idea is to take the game forward in progress. Not backward.
Sadly, it's obvious that nothing is going to be done. They won't even acknowledge the issue here. I posted this back in early November, not long after the game had been released. We all know the issue exists, there have been countless threads about it here and on reddit. Still, they remain silent, as they do on most issues about this game.
The worst part is that most likely this won't ever be changed in future versions. Since all they do with the code is cut and paste it each year, the same bugs and problems follow each version.
Net battles have been reduced to stick tie ups only now, and there's no reason to think they'll ever change it.

As I said in my first post in this thread, I'll pass on this feedback. We're aware of the interference calls, but don't have an update on it. Normally, when issues like this aren't addressed, it means it's a complicated problem to resolve. I get that it may seem simple, but often when fixing one issue, other, more critical ones, can occur. If it were a simple fix, it would have been done by now.
I've experienced these interference calls myself. Mainly from AI players, but I definitely get how frustrating this is regardless of who takes the penalty. We'd all love to see this addressed. When we have some news, we'll provide an update.

Thanks for addressing this.
I'd like to offer some advice: I feel like a light touch on RS to initiate a little 'shove' should never result in a penalty. I used to enjoy giving out little shoves to players at the net front because it let's them know that I know how to shove them in the event the puck gets to them. This forces them to move and find other scoring angles/options.
The way it is now, I need to either hope for them to stop skating in order to initiate a tie-up, or I gain body position between them and the puck and hope to intercept it.
I'd like to 'hope' less and be more confident a tool I use will work if I execute it properly.
However, someone holding down RS to initiate a bigger 'shove' should be more risky.

Very true kid (all though you are 'the man!) 😜👍
Another thing, interference, tripping and charging, these has to be 99% of our penalties.
I didn’t know boarding existed until my opponent got a boarding call yesterday.
I know how boarding work in reality but how can the game recognize the difference between boarding and charging?
I can get a charging penalty on purpose, but I dont think I can create a boarding call, even if I would like to...

I'm sure it is not an easy fix. Thank you in advance for anything that can be done about it. I realize it's probably hard to distinguish a light bump from a blatant interference which is most likely the case with the defensive interference penalty coding, but I don't take a lot of these. The ones that are killing me are: I'm parked just outside the paint in the O-zone, set rebound shot play is executed, puck comes to me, I time the tap in, and-Bam!...offensive interference penalty. Not sure what the fix can be here.- EA_Aljo2 years ago

Hi there, @ElJephray
I assume you're talking about NHL 24. The team is very aware of the feedback regarding unintended interference penalties in front of the net. They are very frustrating to say the least. Hopefully, this will be addressed in a future update.
I'm now going to lock this thread as it's very outdated. For NHL 24 issues, please post in those forums here. Thanks!
