Waivers

In franchise mode, your own team’s players that are waiver eligible can be picked up by other teams if you send them down to minors.  Is there a way to view and pick up players on waivers from other teams?  If so, where do you go to view waivers?

  • @hokiesjg29 Make sure you have waiver notifications turned on. If a team puts a player on waivers you will get a popup notification asking if you want to claim them. Keep in mind any team lower than you in the standings has first dibs on players put on waivers so you may not get a lot of notifications if you are higher up in the standings, but I don't often see cpu teams claim players.

  • Thank you, any idea where I go to turn notifications on?  I assume they are already turned on if that is the default since I have never turned it off but I have played 1/4 a season and have never seen a waiver notification pop up.

@hokiesjg29 Having them on is usually the default, you can find them under "Rules" in the settings menu. There are two things to make sure to turn on: Waivers and Waiver Notifications. They don't seem to happen very often as the game doesn't use the real NHL rules, but right after the trade deadline is when there are usually a couple players put on waivers.
