What’s Happened to EA Sports?

Games change with the times and hybrid controls are a transitional function for players who just aren't ready to take the plunge.

Skill stick is much more mordern and I highly encourage you to adapt - that said, if this is an accessability issue, there are certain advantages to hybrid and 94 controls to compensate. You can usually shoot faster and get better accuracy but I've found some players become unstoppable on faceoffs so maybe try going C - high fo% wins games.

I don't know about puck protect (which is just whatever), but I'm pretty sure you can still hustle with L3 even though it doesn't show in the control menu

Unfortunately HUT has become their cash cow since the jump to PS4 in NHL 15. They don't fine tune the games aswell anymore.

They spend tons of time on game modes nobody asks for with many of them having microtransactions aswell. Its so sad what the gaming industry has become.

Its all business. They won't put GM Connected mode back in because it'll stop people from playing HUT and wasting money on packs. That's the main reason its been deleted.

Even roster sharing would take away from their precious HUT. 

To be honest unless there's a government mandate to get rid of microtransactions, well never get the simple game we want. 

Its embarrassing that with all that PS4 hardware the games are still lacking for the PS3 days.....Almost like EA Sports has kinda gone backwards for almost 10 years. That's the words straight from the Bar Down guys on YouTube.

You mention there are multiple game modes with microtransactions in NHL. This is incorrect. There is only one mode where you can spend additional money. That would be HUT. Several years ago, EASHL had them, but they were removed when making the transition to Xbox One and PS4 and are still not included with the current consoles. So, we've done the opposite of what you're saying by removing a way to spend extra money instead of adding more microtransactions.

We do not keep modes out of the game because of a fear they'll take away from HUT. If that were the case, there would be no EASHL, BAP, FM, Play Now, etc. Again, out of all the available modes, only one has microtransactions. Speaking of HUT, there have been more ways to get free packs, players and earn additional coins than ever. New methods for earning items/coins by just playing the game have been getting added each year for the last few years.
