Rolling out four different versions (Xbox One, Series S/X, etc...) of NHL22 was a BAD idea. More-than-likely developers are scrambling to fix the four different versions, so a working patch is probably weeks away -- maybe longer, if they test this one properly.
Regardless of how this plays out, I probably won't buy NHL23 -- I can't stand the yearly tuner bait-and-switch. Hopefully, 2K Sports will step in and provide us with an alternative soon.

EA has skill stick patent. 2K can not compete without it. Maybe NHL will leave EA like FIFA did.

Nearly an ENTIRE MONTH and the game is still not patched.
With a multi billion dollar company and as large as EA (Sports). You would think they'd have it fixed in maximum of a week.
How many years has EA Sports had the opportunity to work on NHL with the frostbite engine? FIFA and NFL started using frostbite since 2016/2017.
The NHL dev has had nearly SIX YEARS to pull together a polished game. I expect bugs but the type of gameplay thus far has been brutal.
I don't like to be so negative but this has been a monumental let down. It seems EA Sports doesn't care about the NHL franchise at all.
