@jamiestang Its easiy to answer your rants in one post. My responses to you are in bold. You aren't going to like them, but its what I learned from the forums, as well as social media posts.
1 NO reason absolutely no wall it's not like this on Madden
Madden and NHL are using different source codes. They react differently and thus can’t be compared.

Yes, its cheating if the game Devs think its cheating. They have the right to have an opinion, which they did, and they thought it was cheating, so they removed it.
The Law doesn’t work that way.
NO Theres NO Cheating at all ! Explain to me how it's cheating when your playing offline in your own personal season? Like I said if it's cheating your only cheating yourself.
I never said it made sense, but that’s what they said. They felt like players were using exploits to play the game in a manner it wasn’t meant to be played. So, to them its cheating. Just because you and I don’t agree with it, doesn’t invalidate their decision.
And to take it one step further I edit players on all teams ! So even the CPU isn't getting cheated when I play against them !
And to take it one step back, they could change that at anytime they like. So, yeah. Its their game.
As for it being cheating online something that alot of us playing a offline season not even worried about online.
Again, it’s their perception of cheating.
If that would be a issue then have it that you can only use current EA NHL Rosters downloaded !
SIMPLE FIX If u ask me ?
It is a simple fix. All they need to do it get off their high horses and give players what they want, but they won’t, because they don’t like when we figure out how to break their toys.

And label our offline rosters as just that OFFLINE ROSTERS ! That can be edited all the time in every aspect of the game !
This actually doesn’t make any sense as the online play and offline rosters are already separate. They merely don’t want people breaking Franchise mode.
And when does EA Plan on fixing all these problems that they can patch into our current offline season ?
EA has already made it clear through about 50 posts, that they can not or to put it in terms the people won’t rage over, Won’t be updating your save files. Their source code doesn’t allow for that like Madden.

And keep it complicated no offline season patch no roster edits ! Makes sense screw us just ruin all of it for us & we have to like it ! No choices no roster edits no shot bias allowed into my current offlne season !
Guess I don't get to buy anymore NHL Games Not gonna waste money on something that's no fun & has useless restrictions.

@jamiestang You are correct, its an epic fail. EA also doesn't really care about the little money you'll spend on their game, over a lifetime, when some people spend 500 a month on upgrades today. Plus, with no competition from 2k Sports or any other NHL style games out there, there's nothing to prevent them from doing whatever they like.

And If memory serves me correctly this option has been around for a long time now ? So the option is there to use a EA Roster only online problem solved.
So since that's solved boy that was tuff to figure out.So now onto our OFFLINE ROSTERS that can only be used offline for any mode & can be edited all the time anywhere anytime is taken away cause of cheating in your own private home ? Yea makes sense & it's NOT CHEATING AT ALL ITS CALLED FUN.1 Timers , goals , great goaltending that's not cheating ! As EA says but don't stick to , its in the Game !
So to follow this so called cheating as yinz call it ! Then all players in the game should all be edited to 50 all over all attributes 50.No goals , no great game play no fun oops mean cheating.
Heck if they can't give us edit players in season then at least give us the option to decrease & minus all abilities of all players during anytime on game in season etc.
At least this way if we can minus players down to 50s & 40s then we can have 60s & 70 overall as are fun oops mean cheating ! The 60s & 70s would seem like great players against 40s & 50 s ! THIS IS A VERY STOOPID IDEA ! BUT it follows along with there no fun cheating logic or lack there of !

EA ? When are u gonna fix this player edit issue during a existing season for offline use ? Please fix this for us that it's just a simple patch that we can apply to our existing offline seasons PLEASE ? WHEN ?
