Wishlist for 2023
Here are some of my thoughts on what needs to happen/improve/change for NHL 2023: Bring the game to PC Add connected franchise with a decent amount of customization options but at the very minimum...

Hitting needs revamped. You can destroy someone and they still get the puck like what was mentioned earlier in the thread. Id like to see hitting into the bench or even through the glass again like the old NHL days. Also why are you allowed to go fight someone on a clean check? I see it happen all the time.. clean check to cause a breakaway and the team hits the fight so there is no breakaway now. If thats the case the person should get an instigator penalty.
remove the crazy flashing loading screens.. also remove the banner scoreboard at the bottom and put it back up in corner. Atleast give the option to do that and not just completely remove it.
allow clubs with less than 5 skaters to pick the player type of their ai skaters/dmen. Let me choose the play styles of the ai that will work with my play style. maybe a pool of different ai players to put into the positions you need.
1- for EASHL- “Join in Progress” option for clubs. Good lord this needs to be a thing especially since the majority of disconnects seem to be the good ol’ EA Unexpected Error. This option is long overdue.
2- Custom image uploads for club logos. Again this is something about ten years overdue. You police the logos the same way you police the names.
3- FULL jersey design control. Let me decide what piping goes where, or if I want to use a word mark style logo(again, another questionable absence since the Rangers, and now the Pens have it)
4- Either revamp the RP so that it actually works, tor scrap it altogether. I’m sorry but it clearly doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to and rewards/subtracts completely arbitrary amounts regardless of who you beat/lose to.
5- Allow us to take more off of certain attributes. Sorry but as a winger I’m rarely going to take face offs. I would much rather take ten off those and put it into discipline, or deking.
6- Better grasping of the rules. Incidental contact usually doesn’t result in an interference penalty IRL unless it actually disrupts a scoring chance. All these barely marginal interference calls, or trips from the shot block dive where they clip the back of your skate and they fall down...that’s utter nonsense. That would never get called. These are supposed to be NHL level pros, they aren’t that weak on their skates.
7- Unless it’s absolutely gamebreaking...you don’t need to tune-ruin the game. This game was almost perfect on release and has since been tuned into garbage.
Go back to how it was during release.. Loved it then. Force AI to actually play. Goalie swap during online games. New commentary. Different challenges other than the same repeating ones. Better "play of the period" animations/ player reactions. Fix the center getting stuck on the opposing center after faceoffs. Id be so happy though with how it was during release. Think I'll wait to see how the next one will be first for free before buying it this time. Just my opinion as a first time player and compared to madden and other UT modes, i really hope they put more into it
We need NHL on PC. Top Priority.
I second the ability to upload custom images for team logos; I also think that we should be able to upload custom goal songs for created teams and have the ability to trim them to play a certain part of the song.
