    Yes, Xbox users do need an active XBL Gold subscription to play online.

Maybe you did some profile changes online thru pc?
if so just go on social feature on your xbox and download your profile again, then update will be completed and problem will disappear.

      I’m trying to play fight night champion on the Xbox one. Bought it on the Xbox one, had to download ssx just to get pass EA sports terms and conditions. Got passed that, actually got through into the online area. Click on head to head, message pops up “your gamer profile does have the correct permission to access this feature”. I’m a adult profile with xbox live gold. How do I fix this ?
