@kdaniellej Have you tried running the game in different Compatibility settings and making sure no anti-virus or other security interfering with it?
That worked, but I had to do a couple other things so I just wanted to say it here just in case someone else has the same issue.
Originally, I had the game on my external hard drive and that didn't seem to be working. Once I reinstalled it onto my main hard drive and then went and made sure both the Alice: Madness Returns AND the American McGee's Alice were both running in Windows XP compatibility mode that worked like a charm.
Thank you so much for your help. It's been decades since I've played this game and I can't wait to give it another go!

The main issue is more of it expecting it to be on the C:\ directory
I have been unable to get this to work on any other directory even after fiddling with configuration files so it must be something written/built into the wrapper/launcher that runs when selecting American McGee's Alice from the Alice: Madness Returns menu.
If EA has a solution for this it would be appreciated as a larger majority of users these days will be installing to different directories other than C:\
