(HOW TO) Moving from Origin to EA App

Hi,
I would like to ask how to switch from origin to ea app. Will I have to redownload games that together take up about 300gb? Should I download the ea app from the internet and should I select (during installation) the folder with the origin installed? Will it make a mess? I don't want to redownload games.
Thanks.

  • @Adrian29POL  You shouldn't need to redownload your games.  The only reason this would happen is if Origin itself is installed into the same folder as the games.  Because the EA App uninstalls Origin as it installs itself, it removes the entire folder that Origin.exe is inside, so make sure that folder doesn't contain anything you want to keep.

The default setup is that Origin itself is inside Program Files (x86)\Origin and the games are inside Program Files (x86)\Origin Games, which is fine and shouldn't cause any problems.

If your games are in the same folder as Origin, you can move them by right-clicking on each game within your Origin library and selecting Move Game.

It doesn't matter what folder the EA App is expecting to use for your EA games.  It should recognize anything already installed by Origin.
