I know it is 2 years later, but if anyone sees this, i'm talking to you EA, fix your stuff. My original name was TJ_Fischer, and I decided I wanted to see if you can change your username. So, I mashed my keyboard and hit confirm, and now my username is a bunch of random letters. I try to change it back but it keeps saying i'm using a prohibited word or letter. I contacted support and they didn't care and didn't help at all. PLEASE if anyone could help me I would be very thankful.

Apparently it's only possible to change your UserID once a day. I'm not 100% sure if it's exactly 24 hours but I'm certain you can't change twice in a short period of time. The error message is misleading.
Just got my account back after it was hacked. This username is not what I wanted, but it'll do before I can change it. Glad to know I'm not the only one experiencing this issue as of recent.
