Origin Cloud Sync deleted saved game data in Dragon Age Inquisition.
I received a message from Origin stating that there was a confusion with my saved game data and something about cloud and my local files. I chose the 1st option "Cloud" thinking that's where my Inqui...
I actually managed to retrieve my save files! In Origin i rightclicked Dragon Age: Inquisition and chose "View Game Details". There, next to "Details" there's a tab that says "Cloud Storage". There's an option "Restore Save". I pressed it and somehow managed to get my lost save files back.
I don't know if this works with everyone, but it certainly helped me..
Not only did my 20 hours of game play get deleted, it uploaded a new character to my list. A male human named Orc. Anyone missing a male named Orc - I got one.
UPDATE: I got my saves back. Went into Origins,
R.click game box: View Game Details
L.click Cloud Storage tab
L.click: Restore Save - even though the timestamp says the most recent save was from this morning, after I had already opened up the game and made angry faces
I left the cloud sync checkbox on thinking it might force the game to do a sync check
It did.
There were several open windows for Origins, one of which prompted me to select which game data store I wanted to use, which included local data from the night before, it had the proper timestamp of my last save, not the timestamp shown in the View Game Details window.
Hold breath, load game, boom there she is in all her glory.
alt-tab out, type this up, providing hope I can only hope
Uncheck the cloud save feature and get back to doing the dishes now that I'm out of game play time for the morning.
Also note, this is not an isolated issue with DAI. I saw a number of posts regarding this with ME3.
This worked for me also. I've restarted the game three times because the character screen don't look the same in game. So on my third try I really liked what I created then the error happened with the stupid cloud and low and behold she was gone... Checked here and found the post above worked. Thank you Al3sha

I see there are 7 pages and I am too lazy to read through all the replies - my origin has the latest update on PC and I keep getting the sync error message almost immediately when I click to play my fifa 15.
I tried the advice from the first page but my origin doesn't seem to have those options - this is really irritating - you spend all this money on the game and you have such stupid issues.
Does anyone have this type of problem with origing Version 9.11.6.18139 - 411355

My issue is with Bejeweled 3. Lost all of my progress including my game name. I was at level 301, and now at 0. This is intolerable. I am thinking of dumping Origin all together because of this.

Saltisalt's method had the best write-up and worked like a charm. The "best Answer" didn't provide the details that just restoring cloud data would tell you the wrong save was restored. Ignore what it says and choose local data the at the next warning.

This worked for me. Thank you. I was ready to rage after I've sent a ticket to Origin and restarted my game a couple of times. I did the steps you mentioned and my last saved game loaded for me. It's a good thing I checked forums after looking at a bleak future with my Nightmare Achievement un-achieved and potentially starting from scratch again.
I'm more than halfway through the game on nightmare mode and already killed 6 high dragons so I would be crying til Christmas if I couldn't solve this.
I save too every single time I exit so this came as quite a shock to me. To revert back to your first character when you're more than halfway through your third one...
After exiting for a few hours, I just went back in to find that all saves were gone. I followed the suggestions here, to reload the save and turn off cloud save. I got back some of my save data but it was from about 23 days ago. I lost a new character and the end saves for another.
Is there anyway I can get that data back? I have no idea how to find it. It's not in my DA:I saves folder.
OMG, i'd been raging since last night, and even ran Recuva on my system after emailing tech support got me NO WHERE, but i finally found the cloud saves tab under my game info and i THINK i got at LEAST my most recent save back (NOTE: TWO WHOLE OTHER CHARACTER HISTORIES ARE STILL APPARENTLY GONE) (unless the .DAS files i grabbed with Recuva are them). so thank you thank you for the instructions in this thread. it may have saved over 100 hrs of play on my most recent character.
this Cloud Save crap is utter BS. deleting my local saves - EVER - is utter BS.
@saltisalt Hey just wanted to say, this worked! Thanks so much. You probably saved me 40 hours of game time I thought was nuked! I'd buy you a beer or coffee if I could!
