Origin Crashing On Startup

Hey guys,

I'm having some trouble with my Origin app. Every time I try to open it, the app crashes right away (right after putting in Username and Password). I attached a capture of the message that shows up when it crashes.

I tried a lot of solutions by googling, to help narrow down the potential problems I will list some of the things I tried.

-Reinstalling Origin

-Reinstalling with rollback version as suggested by EA support

-Restarting router, and opening the various ports that were suggested to be required by Origin

-Clearing Origin through Windows Firewall, and Windows Defender by adding it as exception

-Doing SFC /SCANNOW, it fixed some corrupted files in the process. I used DISM commands because the SFC /SCANNOW was failing to repair the files initially

-Cleared the Origin cache files found in %programdata% and %appdata%.

-Installed and ran Malwarebytes to discover viruses, thanks Zeelmaekers for the suggestion

-Deleted AI Suite

Attached a DxDiag. If needed I can share some of the Origin client logs, just let me know which one.

Any and all help appreciated, thanks to everyone who helped me already.

I see that you have a PS2 camera hooked up when you ran your DxDiag and a lot of storage devices. Can you try removing 1 at a time to see if Origin is able to launch?

Make sure DipAwayMode.exe is disabled from your processes before you launch Origin to see if that helps as well.

  • Still happening. ☹️ Any ideas appreciated.

I should add that I tried doing the clean startup process, where I removed all program startups and non Microsoft services using msconfig. It doesn't seem to be an issue with program incompatibilities.

Wow! It seems that it was the PS2 camera after all. Although I'm a bit disappointed that I can't leave it plugged in, I'm so happy that I can finally log into my Origin app! Thanks so much @EA_Blueberry

If I were to guess why it's happening, the PS2 camera doesn't have a Windows 10 driver so it took some doing to make it work on my computer. I'm guessing along the way the driver somehow caused some incompatibilities.
