origin login credentials expired

Hi folks,

Been looking for some help for the last few days now. So I think I may have been banned or suspended but I have not access my account for at least a year now. The I have tried logging in but it says my credentials cannot be verified but I have reset my pw quite a few times as well as placed a trouble ticket in. The thing where I am lost is how I am able to login to the account support page and see my games but not to the actual origin website or desktop app to download my games. I have not done anything (I believe) to cause me to be suspended or banned nor I have i received any email stating to this fact. I have done web search after web search to the point of insanity trying all of the "fixes" but they have been no success. Attached is a snippit of the error that I get. A little extra info, I have another origin account I bout ME:A on and I am able to login into that one just fine. Now if it's the issue of me having 2 accounts then that may be the case but I have seen nothing to this fact online other than logging in with VPNs which I do not do. Any help outside of the web searches would be most appreciated.

  • I created one with the exact same text from this post last Friday. I must have not hit submit or something. It has been submitted.

  • Heya @Blukid0610 ! I already answered this on another credential issue post, but felt the need to help you as well!

Because I had the same issue a few times after typing in my password wrong (by accident) and I got the credentials have expired issue, that prevented me from logging into my account. Apparently it's a very common bug, that occurs when you type in your password wrong... Super annoying.

I read somewhere else if you reset your password it works again, but be aware! I never got the email to reset my password. No matter how often I tried and I did not type my email address wrong! The email just did not come through.

Instead I tried what the other person already suggested and contacted an adviser (you can find it here: https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/?product=origin).
They told me I get this issue because my account has not been verified yet. This is the instruction I got:

EA Account & Billing > Security > Login verification > Turn on > Answer security question > Select any of email/text/app authentication and it's all set.

I am not entirely sure if that was what solved it, (because he also send me a password reset that actually came through) but it helped for now. I was able to log in again.

So be careful when you type in your password, because if you make a mistake, you get this annoying problem xD Hope this helped in some way. Thought it was worth a try to let people know of this possible fix, since I haven't heard of this solution yet. At least now it's out there. Good luck xx
