Hey @slippery_silvia if your controller is not working when playing on Steam then I would recommend speaking with Steam support.
I play a number of EA games with my PS4 controller on Steam that do not have PS controller support on Origin.

I managed to get it to work, added origin as a game to steam and launched origin through steam then started my game.

For me i mostly use steam.
If you have Steam installed, in the bottom left of the app select add new game. it should bring up a list of apps/games to add. If it is not shown browse to the orgin exe file.
Once added, go to library and launch origin from within steam. (make sure origin has been closed before you try to launch through steam) This will open origin and it will look normal but should give support for the playstation controller.
You should be able to play any game from within your origin library like normal.
That seems to work with selected games. I have done this before and typically Steam Big Picture is the only thing you need. For example Outriders works perfectly with PS5 controller. It seems though that Mass Effect Legendary Edition only works with the PS4 Controller and not the PS5. Have you gotten the PS5 controller to work with MassE ?

@EA_Darkois that an excuse to throw the blame towards steam why in the first place people need to use ds4 or steam or any kind of program when half the game on origin are already on consoles why is there no support for them the only support everyone needs to speak to and clearly to the upper management that probably by sitting in the office with their i wish i could say it but why we have to go to these lengths to play a frigin game are u for real now? u destroying ur own fanbase and the people u working for don't give a @@@ about us or even you and you defend them, people in lower positions over there are worst that us the sheep customers u literally worst of the worst this is unbelievable u cant connect a single controller to play a game that was already on a console and yea i already tried all those crappy ways literally all of them but just because its worked on one it will not on everybody and you people do absolutely nothing about it u never did for any game waste of oxygen
