You need to enter the password for your user account on your Mac, the one you enter when you start up your Mac and log in.

I already tried that, it didn't work

Nevertheless, please use the Origin reset tool and then download and install the latest release of Origin. If that doesn't work use the reset tool again and download the beta build of Origin linked to in the thread above.

- @Bluebellflora This still doesn't work! I log in with one password and the same password doesn't work when prompted to install the helper tool.
- @Bluebellflora My account is an administrator account. So i log in with one password but yeah, still doesn't work for the helper tool. Pretty stumped.

It's an issue that has been around on and off for years. Going to move this to the Origin forum so it's more visible to the Origin team (hopefully). - @Bluebellflora Thanks. I'm aldo waiting to hear back from Apple Support so i can reset my mac user password. At the moment my password when i log in from restarting doesn't work even if i log out, but when i restart completely it works again. If i get the password sorted i think the helper tool will install! Thanks.
