I recently built a Desktop PC. In my laptop I played a lot of Apex Legends (371 hours). I'd like to install Origin and then Apex on my new PC but the origin installer won't run. It always stops saying that VCRUNTIME140.dll and MSVCP140.dll are missing. I read in this thread that some people solved by manually downloading these libraries by Microsoft website. It didn't work for me.

I read that the installer's name is OriginThinSetup. I tried to find a "normal" version but i couldn't find any.

I don't know what to try now.

Yes! It works!
I always thought that on x64 OS you could only use x64 or lower programs. Now I see that I needed to download and install both the x64 and x86 versions.

Hey! So I uninstalled all previous versions of C++ I had on my computer, then installed the two files you linked in the thread. I even repaired both of them after downloading, then repaired my copy of the Sims 4-- nothing worked, I'm still getting the two MSVCP140.dll and VCRUNTIME140.dll is missing error messages. Any further support? I'm not that good with computers or anything like that, so a simple rundown would be very appreciated. Thanks, and sorry for taking up your time/sounding stupid! :'))

I did the same thing but no luck, new install of windows 10 Pro 64 on new hardware...

Installed Sims 4 via Steam so I tried the tricks mentioned here:

still no luck.

So then I uninstalled Steam, uninstalled both of those executables, restarted PC, installed those libraries and guess what?

Same damned problem.

I checked for permission issues - nope, I am an admin and Steamfolder is writable

Every other Steam game works first go (rolling eyes emoji) what a waste of two days ☹️

any help or even a clue would be awesome
