@Parkie76 S mode means you can't download or install anything not from the Microsoft store. It's a safety measure, but if you don't want that and would prefer to manage your downloads yourself, there's no harm in upgrading to Windows 10 Home, which is free.

Before you go that route though, does your computer meet the requirements for Sims 4? Some laptops with Windows 10 S do, but others' hardware is too weak to properly run the game. If you're not sure, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
