This is an issue with your internet. You can't blame EA for this. Check with your internet providers. You also will free up bandwidth if your're not streaming movies and sharing your internet with others as you're downloading. Try running a speedtest at www.speedtest.net. Then callyour ISP and give them the results. They'll let you know if it is below what you're supposed to be getting for a download speed.

its not the internet it only took three minutes on my desktop and its been taking all night on my laptop and it brand new

It is not our internet. It's totally EA.

It's no one's internet . I took the speed test, and that loaded really fast.

However, to download the game its taking me 9 hours

So what do we do!!!! My laptop is taking 8 hours overnight and only got me 9%, but then I did it thoughout the day and finally got it to 21%

there is not way you got the Sims 4 for free.... haha

I'm currently on 80% on my macbook, only after waiting literally 24 hours and it being stuck at 74% - I gave up and downloaded it on my mum's new mac (i'm not sure which one but its one of the newer ones out) and it literally downloaded in 10 mins max and was ready to play. I use the same connection on my laptop, so i really don't know what the problem is. Its only started crawling again after i deleted some old programs and emptied my trash. My macbook is kinda old but it fits all the specs and requirements soooo idk. :/ Maybe on newer models it loads faster? My internet is fine and even though its probably doing 1% a couple of minutes, its kinda getting there! Fingers crossed lol. 

Also is anyone finding, that for some reason- when you open your browser it seemingly loads faster? what's up with that?

How can it be my internet when I have no problems with anything else and this is happening to a lot of people

I had a similar issue where it was taking forever to load, after about 5 hours it finally got to 1% but I had my dad access origin as he is the administator of the computer and it really sped up the loading prosscess its been maybe 10-20 minutes now and it went from 1% to 87%

I am currently having this issue and it has taken an hour to get to 11%, which seems only a little faster than what people have been experiencing..... does anyone have any answers?

Same here guys it took mabey 30 min and its at 12 so idk how long its gonna take 😞

It's been about an hour already and it's only at 3% :robotsad:

mine only took about 2-8 hours to finish for the sims 2  7 hours for the sims 3 and 73 hours for the sims 4 

Think of it this way: how many god damn things can you  do in the Sims! How many combinations for people do you have and take all that and cram it into your computer! Not so unimpressive now eh?

I downloaded mine overnight,it has finished downloading but now it is INSTALLING! This is the second day waiting, hopefully it will be worth it.

It only took me less than 30 mins on my macbook pro. But my internet connection is very good.
