Yes you are right. We all have a passion for gaming and that's what makes every one of our systems great. It shows our gaming preferences within the same hobby.

I understand you and knew what you meant. Doesn't sound like you are bragging at all. There is a difference between bragging and verbal gratitude for what you have. Know what i mean ? If you were posting 500 word paragraphs and pictures all the time then yea that would be a bit much . Nothing wrong with sharing some photos and appreciation for what you have. I get what you mean but i am just saying this as a point i guess. Did any of what i just said make sense lol. 😃

Also, gaming is a hobby, so I saved up a long time to get my current setup. It's similar to how you've saved up or invested a lot of time into your gaming rooms. It's all worth it in the end!

If you could go for any gaming set up that you wanted, what would it be? It doesn't have to be realistic, just go with your dreams on this one.. 🙂
Also, don't feel limited to naming the parts that would be in your PC. Instead, also try thinking about what the room would look like, the furniture etc.
My dream game system will be including two devices, an Xbox one S (or scorpio if EA will make VR games to this platform) and a PC that ran both older and newer games without compitabilty issues, it will also have two screens, one HD 22" TV which will be connected to both the Xbox and the PC, and an old 14" 4:3 CRT screen which will be connected only to the PC (old games look better in 4:3),
About the room, I will have a large red computer chair (with the wheels) so it will be easy to move closer when I'm using the PC and far when I'm using the Xbox, and good wi-fi since Mobile games really complete the packege for me

Well i know this is going to sound corny but I am going to say it. Honestly I really have the dream build I have always wanted for the most part already but since we are using virtual unlimited got money to burn cash then i,l change up some stuff . I guess i would replace my EVGA gtx 1080 with a couple of top tier 1080 TI , replace my Dell U3014 30 inch with a 40 to 50 inch OLED 4K monitor. Run a Intel Core i7-7700K with a matched Gigabyte mother board up from my I7 4770K and Asus Z87. Basically i would put more time into custom building a clean looking and matched PC case. Probably with a black , light blue and white color scheme. For my room i would paint it a different color than white and add some medium sized poster scans of some of the games cover art that i have in my collection on the walls around the room. Get a more top end PC chair and maybe add a gaming buttkicker setup to my existing sound system. 🙂
Or if i really wanted to go full out bad azz, super tech , chick approved gaming room i would do one like this bad boy right here. I would also add a polished aluminum shift knob to the top of the plunger handle for that added touch :P

But in all seriousness, that's certainly a comfortable gaming setup. Blue is also my favorite color so +1 for getting the case with blue lighting.. :D

I just upgraded from a generic 1920x1080 60hz monitor to the Asus VG248QE, which is a 1920x1080 144hz monitor.
I always wanted a better monitor without spending too much. I value framerate more than resolution, which is why 1080p is enough for me. Going from 60 to 144 frames per second is spectacular. I just played my first Rocket League game at a consistent 144fps and I'm amazed by how well it looks and feels.
I won't be able to manage 144fps in all my games (the Radeon R9 390 is good but not top of the line), but the colors and overall quality are also an improvement, so I'm very satisfied all around.
And some people dare say you can't see the difference between 30 and 60 frames per second. 😛 Not only can I see the difference between 60 and 144 fps, I can also feel it. It greatly affects the quality of the gaming experience.
DICE TeamMy nephew has a sweet 144hz monitor as well and there is a difference. I am capped at 60 fps with v sync and even now when i upgraded my 780ti to my current gtx 1080 i could see a smoother game play at a constant 60fps. So imagine what a 144 hz monitor can do. . You will have some great gaming with your monitor my friend.
Well bud if a fellow is able to come up with the money first and foremost then I see it in two ways. A- saving up that money usually equates to busting your butt off and B- it is going to be appreciated because you had to bust your butt off for it. So those two things justifies it in my book. Plus whats the point of all that hard work if one cant dip into the cash flow on the rare occasion and get them self some cool tech. If you are able and it is what you are going to use a lot then go for it. I felt the same way when i saw the price of my U3014....i was like who in their right mind would cash out that kind of coin for a monitor. In the end it was well worth it because it did , still does every thing i wanted it to do and unless it dies on me i will be using it for a long time. Same goes for the monitor you choose ,Thus justifying the price right. Just my 2 cents my friend 🙂

A lot of people claim that it looks washed out at factory settings, but I came from such a bad monitor that it was a big leap in quality. I then followed someone's advice on Reddit on color settings and it looks very vibrant now.
The 27'' model of this monitor is not that much more expensive. It's $300 on Amazon, which is still less than I paid for the 24'' due to higher Belgian prices.
No matter the price range for the most part a good research and tweak session on a video or audio item can really bring it to life. I have calibrated many systems so i can back that statement up. Like you say , tweaking your monitor really stepped it up. Points to you for taking the time to dial it in.

It's NOT 4K. It is 1 ms gtg and 144 hz and it looks great. Got HDMI, Displayport and DVI. Forget the speakers. Same as all monitor speakers ... not so good. Ergonomics are good, but I use a $35 clamp on the desk mount from the same seller. I'm sure you can find similar.
Just one more option. I came from Viewsonic and was shocked at the difference. Not good enough to give away.
Doesn't have to be 4k IMHO. Dont get me wrong 4k is nice but I rather have a 1080p or 2k monitor and be able to run full maxed graphics with out having to spend the extra cost on a gpu + to back a 4k monitor up. I run my U3014 with a gtx 1080 and i can run all games fully maxed and its still looks nice and "crispy" lol. Just my 2 cents and i am certainly not knocking those who have a 4k monitor ether btw. I use lumasharpening via Reshade and it makes games so clean and sharp as well with out taking more resources. Like EA_Tom says you have a great setup indeed and got a really great performing / balanced system going on there.
Jeez man as a tech addict myself i was drooling reading your setup and tech talk lol. Great build there my friend. I dig it. Its really cool to see some ahem' slightly older" gamers like myself out there , or on here. I totally get where you are coming from. I was late 30s before i was able to start building my dream setup. It takes time and hard work to get to a point in your life where your career finally takes off and you can spend money in order to build your dream setup. IMHO its more the a game setup for many . For me its pride in the building of , learning about and the tech behind the gaming rig and room sort of speak. It is a great hobby indeed.
Thanks for the shout out on my room. As well , being young affords you the time to gather ideas from gamers like my self ,BadJasper and others to create your own vision with the latest affordable tech. I always enjoy it when i see others finally being able to realize their own dreams. Soon my friend before you know it you will build a rig like no others has ever witness . It took me a good while before i even decided on what i wanted to go with . With tech changing so fast its a task that needs careful thought and time IMO
