sims 4 been saying "finalizing" for 12 hours now

how do i download the packs later? the reason i had reinstalled it was because the packs had disappeared and i had no idea how to get them back without reinstalling it

@plzsaysike78  Once the base game is installed, open your Origin game library, click on the Sims 4 icon, select More > Expansion Packs, scroll through the list, and click Download on any pack you own.  Do the same for Game Packs and Stuff Packs.  If Origin keeps getting stuck finalizing, run the Origin reset tool and restart again, then download only one pack at a time.  It's tedious, but it's the best way to make things work.

okay ive got a question as well. ive came to the same problem and ive done everything but throw my computer out the window! so yesterday i downloaded a bundle with dine out, tiny living and university. all downloaded and i can see that each is installed when i go to the individual game info. but i am also stuck on finalizing. of course you can still play the game, so i tried to do that to see if maybe they would be installed anyways and maybe my mac was just lagging in some way. the dine out expansion was loaded into the game but not the other two. would you suggest that i do the same steps as you recommended? in 20 years of playing this game, i dont know if ive ever been more aggravated lol thanks!

@kaylinchristine5  Yes, running the Origin reset tool should fix the finalizing issue.  You might need to repair the game in Origin again, although it might be fine to skip that step.

For the missing packs, is your Mac running the Legacy Edition of Sims 4?  If so, neither Tiny Living nor Discover University will work: they don't run at all in the LE.
