(Sims 4) System Error - MSVCR100.dll is missing
So I upgraded to Windows 10 on Saturday and I just bought Sims 4 today. Before I downloaded it, I opened Origin and got on my SimCity and everything worked fine. I downloaded the "demo create a character for Sims 4" and tried to open it and it wouldn't open. I wanted the game anyways so I just purchased it and downloaded it. Now for what ever reason, my Origin wont even open.
- I have tried the Visual C++ thing and it said that my version is better.
- I have uninstalled and reinstalled Origin more than once.
- I have updated my video card driver (Nvidia).
- I have tried replacing the dll file and it says it is in use.
- I have tried right-clicking and running as administrator.
Could someone please help me, I don't know what else to do.
-Jeff
@jeffkestie Hi,
Please check and install these from Microsoft:
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64)
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
- Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 (all three: vcredist_arm.exe, vcredist_x64.exe, vcredist_x86.exe)
If that doesn't help, please look at the further steps provided over here: http://answers.ea.com/t5/Origin/Windows-10-Origin-start-up-error-0xc000007b/m-p/4710208#M161811
If that still does not work, and the installation fails, please follow the below steps in exact order:
- Manually uninstall Origin
- Run CCleaner
- Restart your router/modem and do a Clean Boot
- Make sure that your UAC is enabled and set to notify
- Download the latest version of Origin and install the client - make sure to run the setup file with Admin rights
- Add firewall/antivirus exceptions for Origin and open the needed ports
- When starting Origin, please make sure to run it as Administrator
Let us know how you get on afterwards.
Cheers,
Nils
