I can confirm after much research, trial and error that this error occurs in Asus Z170 (Skylake) motherboards whose BIOS has not been updated.
The most recent BIOS from Asus resolved this issue for me. No downgrade to Windows 7 was required. My research indicates that Gigabyte Z170 motherboards are also affected. I would recommend that the best solution to the 8016 problem for people who have Z170 motherboards is to update their BIOS.

They can only tell you , what BIOS types update need your machine.I hope that answers your question

JUST one thing. my dad wants to help me but he wants 100% "CONFIRMED" that it is the motherboard.
by CONFIRM i mean that you have done it and it sovled the problem. until then i still have the problem

I don't know CPU's as much as you guys I got one for one reason to play Spore and The Sims that are not Console games. From all this due to me purchasing a new CPU I can't play Spore, WOW I have been wanting to play this game since it came out I even purchased a laptop from my friend that was full of viruses just to play this game but since it was very laggy and slow I wanted my own CPU and now I have to wait for some kind of update to the motherboard to play Spore. Wow just Wow. I just got an IBUYPOWER CPU from Best Buy it says in the box GTX-970 4GB I think this is the video card lol. At least The Sims 4 works. I'll have to give IBP a call to check up on this CPU's info to see what I will need to do to play Spore I'm not going to give up I've waited this long just a little more and I can finally blow up a planet for this aggravation, lol. I got to say this for those of you that don't work for EA thanks for you're help in getting the info I'll check out what to do next if I find out what is needed for this PC, I'll post to help everyone that I can too.
