Forum Discussion
Having so many sub-forums in one website with nothing special in them is the wrong way to go when it comes to keeping people around. Everybody (literally everyone) that I've talked to that was on the Sporum simply hates the alternative forum given here. Can we get a raise of hands of people who will actually stay here long term and contribute to the place? I've been on the Sporum since 2010 and the design is what has kept me on that forum, there's nothing close to tradition here which is upsetting.
If you want people to stay, you need to work on the design. But the biggest problem here is that this place is more of a support forum than an actual gaming forum, I think EA is missing the point here. I guess it's better than nothing; but in a way, is it really? The community, the heart of what made the Sporum great is gone because of the bland design. When I say bland I mean that everything looks the same other than a PNG banner at the top.
The unofficial Sporum is more active than this place simply because it touches home. If there's one thing you can learn from this, give each sub-section a distinct but a look that makes people want to come back to it.

"Everybody (literally everyone) that I've talked to that was on the Sporum simply hates the alternative forum given here. "
But why do they hate it?
I can tell you why I do. And its not because its bland. My biggest issue with this forum is the fact that it is not easy to figure out and it has some technical issues, I.E. preview doesn't work.
A similar UI doesn't not a community make. You know what does? Three active discord servers leaving you in the dust with almost 300 people combined.

Discord is different in comparison when it comes to actual forums. Their structure is different; one is instant messaging and the other is more 'permanent' based. Yeah, I know you can pin posts on Discord, but it's not exactly like getting to a thread on the Sporum.
I should probably rephrase that Discord, as well as Reddit; Are good places because their UI looks far better in comparison to places like this. Not to insult here, but it looks boring to me.
And yeah, I will say that I've had major problems with how this forum functions too; Preview definitely doesn't work, and using HTML when you're used to the BBCode on the Sporum is pretty offputting. I found it pretty difficult to make the Grox thread without encountering issues here to the point where I had to reduce the threads quality just to pass it.
Edit: Actually it was this thread: https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussions/How-to-get-all-the-Badges-in-the-Space-Stage-Shrpee-s-Method/m-p/6927763#M34

I do like that you can copy and paste and it'll transfer everything here. But trying to make anything new, is, well.. for lack of a better word very bad.
As for Kamadre. The whole point of making an email and verifying it is so that people cant just drop in and raid the place by shoving spam in every corner of every section. That's just not gonna cut it (;
I also never said discord was a forum, but you seem to think that because its not, that there's no community involved. Are you one of the people I kicked for spamming? :D

Been on the spore discord. Stop bragging about how many people u have. Very annoying. It is discord I myself made about 10 alts without even having emails for most. They all add to the numbers. And Discord is not a forum. There is no comparison. Everything gets fluttered mostly with spam and annoyingness by 2 to 3 people n discord steals your data and sells it
