When pressing play for Galactic Adventures, it will always lead you to the base version of Spore. Spore is a very old game, and it's expansion 'Galactic Adventures' is an expansion pack with it's own unique executeable file.

To solve this, locate the hard-drive where you installed Spore (usually C) and follow this directory:

1. C:\Program Files\EA Games\Spore\SPORE Galactic Adventures\SporebinEP1

2. Load up SporeApp.exe - This should now load Spore Galactic Adventures.

The issue is because it's redirecting you to the base Spore via the EA App. The team hasn't set the correct executable to launch. This should be a relatively easy fix. @EA_Illium 

It doesn't help that both executables have the same exact name.

What do you mean by that

do you mean we should click on SporeApp.exe

@Sharples65 I'm launching the executable directly and it results in an error

What error are you receiving? 

It used to be "Cannot find %gamename%" but now it just says I'll need an update to play this game, and clicking update and restart just restarts the client with no update. Just like the other people here.

DigitalUnitoof, from my knowledge there's no current fix at the moment. The only ways are 3rd party sources to either downgrade the EA App to Origin or to use The Spore ModAPI.

You could try posting a thread in the EA App forum explaining the issue you're having.

Edit: For anybody experiencing errors relating to Galactic Adventures, try these two solutions:

1. Open the EA App. There should be three lines at the top-left corner.

2. Hover over 'Help' and select 'App Recovery'.

3. Clear cache.

Allow it to clear the cache and then try loading Spore Galactic Adventures. If it still doesn't work:

1. Click on 'SPORE' in the EA App

2. Click on 'MANAGE'

3. Click on 'Repair'

Done and i get still this here

Update Required

Update the EA app to the latest version so you can get back to your game

I've reported this issue here. It seems to be affecting everyone on the EA App at the moment.

Hopefully it expedites the fix!

You can also help by reporting a problem with the EA App team in the EA App:

1. Click on the three lines at the top left.

2. Hover over 'Help' and click on 'EA Error Reporter'

3. Fill in the details of the issue reported in the linked thread. Along with any other errors you may be facing.

I am having the same problem with Spore galactic. But I did notice something wierd today. Trying to save a screen shot, I noticed that it wasn't saved in my regular Spore backup directory. When searching for it I noticed that there was a new folder named "내 Spore 창조물" created on my computer. It has all the files for Spore, plus the saved pictures and such. It was created on 6/7/2024. The same day that Spore Galactic stoped working. Why Is Made a whole new Folder, and saves pictures there I have no Idea. Did anyone else get this new Spore folder?
