Hey @InquizitorPhil,

Players who use a physical version (CD),  can install the game without Origin.
Players who bought Spore through Steam or Origin,  can't install or play without a client, because it is a Digital Download.

When you create an account, you need to consider the following steps

Important:  In Spore you do not use only a Spore Persona not the EA ID

Create first an EA ID

Login with your EA ID, they must verify

Under Settings, you can then create a Spore Persona, keep an eye on my pic.

The servers are online. The game can be updated anytime.

3. Choose your country (take a look right side upper navigation groin)

    Are key codes connected to Spore accounts? In 2008 my brothers and I shared a computer and Spore account, which was connected to what is now my oldest brother's email that he uses for games and twitch. We wiped that computer about 2 years ago.

    Do I have to use my brother's Spore profile? I followed all the steps, verified my EA account, even turned all my antivirus and firewalls off (they're back on now). I logged in the Spore website using my EA profile.

    Still get an "unknown error" when I try to make a spore screen name, and when I try to log in with my email, it just says there was an error in reaching the Spore servers.

    Hi @InquizitorPhil,

    Each copy is linked to an account.
    You cannot make multiple accounts with a spore copy
    You cannot be passed on to the next, that's why you get the error message.
    The game was 1x registered on your brother's account and hence he is the owner of this version, right!
    If you do want to play, you need a new version with Key, everything else is not working.
