Reedeem Codes

I bought a copy of Spore at retail in 2008 and decided to re-install it recently.  After trying multile times to do so, I looked online to figure out why it wouldn't work.  That led me to the knowledge that I have to reedeem the product code through my origin account.  I tried to enter the code in the Origin reedeem code option, but it didn't work.  I have been a member of EA's online services since it was called EA Download Manager, and am sad that I cannot simply replay an old game I pulled out of the closet and install it from the disk.  Can anybody help me with this?

    Also I checked my regedit, and the code I used is still there.

    Me too. I get an error message saying that the code is already in use. I did create an EA account for sporepedia when it was first released... so maybe that's why?
