Reloaded Spore - Every start it want's to download updates -- done it 4 times

2 questions

Just got a board game calle "Primoidial Soup"  --  thought I'd reload SPORE from "back when".  No problems, -- BUT - it keeps suggesting that upgarades are available.  I do "OK".  They are installed.  The next time I start, It's the same thing -- wanting upgrades.  

The game seems to be working

 #1:    What about the uploads message ??

 #2 :   Are the servers still working for the game?
