Spore and DLC Issues After Migration to EA App – Configuration Errors [2000]

I wanted to gain access to network features (Case #198480542) – this required migrating to the EA APP. However, Spore and its DLCs are not working.

I followed the steps provided (from Case #198712250):

  1. "Clear the EA App cache: https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
  2. Check for Windows updates and install them if available.
  3. Run the System File Checker tool to ensure the integrity of Windows system files: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
  4. Perform a clean boot of the PC: http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/
  5. Run the EA app as an administrator."

Clearing the cache didn’t help.

In this case, don’t worry—please take some time to try all the steps one by one, then restart your system and try downloading the game again.

This didn’t resolve the issue, and performing the clean boot according to the instructions only caused more problems with my computer.

The DLC "Cute & Creepy Pack" only loads up to 96% – afterward, when attempting to resume, I receive a message saying that an issue occurred.

Launching "Spore" or "Spore Galactic Adventures" triggers an alert:

"Configuration Script Failed [2000]"

After pressing "OK," the game briefly displays a black screen and then shuts down, showing another alert:

"Could not find a needed package. The data directory is missing or corrupt. [1004]"

Another conversation with a consultant only led to the conclusion that my issue is being reviewed and a suggestion to create a thread about it on the forum.
