Spore Error: "redundancy check"

Question

I've had a Spore CD for a few years and I've always tried to play it. I just put the CD into my computer, set up the installer, and right when the installer was almost complete, an error message popped up and it read:

"File: D:\Spore\Data\Spore_Graphics.package
Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)"

Anything I can do to fix this?

Also, now that I'm trying to get the Spore installer to load again, it's not loading. What should I do?

I don't want to have to buy the game again. Even if I do this, I feel like the problem will remain.

Hi @nnyesabby,

I'm sorry to hear that, this can have many causes > a dirty CD or a conflict between the hardware.

Make sure and try cleaning it and verify it is free from smudges/scratches.
(Clean the CD with a microfibre cloths without chemical agents)
