Spore Galactic Adventures update- Bought off Gamestop's store

I bought the bundle of the Spore games that Gamestop offers for download purchase online. When I went to update Galactic Adventures, it told me that it detected a more up to date version of Spore and that I would have to uninstall it to update. If you uninstall spore, Galactic Adventures ceases to run. (because it is dependent on the original.)  The version of spore it is detecting is 1.05.4096 and the setup installs 1.05.0001.  I am running Windows 8 if that is neeeded. I would appreciate any help I can get. Thank you in advance.
