Basically I headed over to EA support and explained my problem. The first person I chatted with told me to link my Steam and EA accounts, but that didn't work. The second person told me to attach the proof to my case. When I got to the third person, I explained my problem (I couldn't log into my EA account in Spore, and I couldn't access the online content.) Basically what he did was he automatically added Spore to my Origin Client game library, and then sent me a CD Key just in case. Then I just downloaded the game through Origin Client, logged into my EA account in Spore, closed it, and then opened the Steam version. Once I did that, I was able to just log in normally and keep playing.

^^^ this is what EA support will need to do. If I remember correctly, the advisor will need to get their supervisor to verify the proof of purchase (receipt from steam) and then they can give you a brand new code on your account.
Here is the link to contact EA Origin support: https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/?product=origin&platform=pc&category=codes-and-promotions&issue=invalid-code (you can typically choose chat or phone, email might be available too)
One thing I do want to note, you should NOT have two copies of Spore installed at the same time, on the same computer.
If your code is registered, you do not need to install the game from Origin (unless you wish to use mods) - just having the game listed in your library is enough. Just launch the Steam version of the game, enter your EA account email and password, and a new Spore screen name, and you're good to go.
If you do choose to install the game from Origin (i.e. to use mods, or if you simply prefer Origin over Steam), make sure to uninstall the Steam version first. You will need to uninstall the base game and any expansions, then reinstall from Origin. Having both installed has a very high chance of causing problems, and if you have done this you should fully uninstall both copies and reinstall from a single location.

I'm glad to have been of help. I've seen many people do what I did and share the information. It's great.

Man, I tried contacting EA support via that link and was told to contact Steam support instead. I provided proof of purchase and whatnot but was still just told to go to Steam support. Guess I get to wait for a response from Steam now
- 4 years ago@digilover21 I hope Steam support gives you the answer you need

Steam support was trash. They just told me the game didn't come with a CD key and they sent me back to EA support. Today I called EA support and did get the problem solved, thank god. The man I talked to was very friendly and after proper verification and having me link my Steam account to my EA account just added Spore to my EA account. To anyone else who sees this and tries contacting EA, link your Steam account and ask if they can add Spore to your EA account. I wish I would've been more direct about it in the first place instead of jumping through so many hoops just to receive the same help other people got easily.

Very helpful, I talked to the online staff, then EA added the Spore to my Oigirn library. BTW, you should install Origin and link it to the Steam account.
Here is the guideline to link them up:

Hello Kyle_NecroWolf,
Just to follow up, it also says I may need to purchase EA Play or EA Play Plus in order to play SPORE. Is this the case? Or can I access the Sporepedia WITHOUT paying this monthly fee? - 3 years ago

I just spend an hour sending screen dumps fdrom Steam only to get told it wasn't good enough.. at last I gave up..
It's a *' scam, Steam refuse to refund, they claim I have played the game 4 hours and 5 min ( a game I can not start????)
and AE claim my proof of purphase from Steam are not valid...
So a 100% internet scam..It's only € 4.99 but God knows I'll keep fighting for that refund forever via bank, VISA-card, and EU Consumers..
I'm sooo tired of internet companies thinking, Chinese/US ect. laws are the same we use here..
GRRRRRRRR I'm sooo pissed, one thing is the money scam, tha next thing is the waste of my valuble time...
and not to forget my 5 year old grand son, who wanted to play Spore...
we didn't play spore... after one hour trying to start the game, and one hour discussing with EA scam support..
