Suddenly Don't Own GA

I need to reinstall Spore, I have almost all of the Spore DLCs (I just don't have Bot Parts), yet the stupid EA app says I only have Creepy and Cute!! I already got all of them years ago on Steam and then Origin.

    EA removed the ability to see your CD-Key sometime around 2021. Before this time you could distribute your CD-Key for another player to register the game. CD-Keys only tie one account, but still allow you to play the game as normal.

    Seeing as you have Galactic Adventures in your purchase history however, I'd contact EA Live Chat again and get in touch with different advisor. Using the method outlined in post #2 on providing proof of purchase history. Sometimes advisors can a little stiff, let them know you'd like to transfer your Steam copy of Galactic Adventures over to the EA App.

    From your original post, you said you had it on Origin. Origin was discontinued a while ago and the EA App has taken its place. You're 100% sure you had Galactic Adventures in that account and not another? It could've been removed by EA themselves, if they're saying it's 'unauthorized and illegal'. That's kinda out of any technical knowledge we'd be able to help you with here.

    As another check, did you register the copies online and do you have a SPORE account? If so, try logging into the Spore website. (You may need to use a different browser or clear cookies). You'll be looking for these icons I've attached below. It pretty much proves you registered Galactic Adventures.

    You can also provide your screen name here if you'd like and I could check for you.

  • They said they couldn't help me and that my GA was "unauthorized and illegal" or something even though I got the regular Spore and Creepy and Cute via the same method as GA, yet there was no problems detected with them.

    Are you sure you have a copy of Spore: Galactic Adventures in your Steam Purchase History? 

    Unauthorized and illegal would suggest that the Steam version of Spore has either been refunded or the CD-Key prior to it being hidden was distributed. If neither of these are correct, I'd open a different live chat and continue to go through the proof of purchase mentioned above. If they're still saying it's unauthorized and illegal, you can try your luck at EAHelp on X.

  • Yeah, I just checked. I definitely got it. I may have uninstalled them, but I never refunded them. What do you mean by "...the CD-Key prior to it being hidden was distributed."? I do not follow. 🤨

  • This is the only account I've ever had... I kept using the Origin app for a while because I heard how broken the EA app is and made the unfortunate choice to try and switch over recently. I've had GA longer than I've had an account, but for some reason it never showed the icon of GA being bought but oddly enough showed the other icons on my Spore page. The whole reason why I got them on Origin was for the online features, in fact. I thought it was some sort of bug, to be honest.

    You have achievements with Galactic Adventures that tells me you registered it on this account. But there are no shared creations with GA, such as adventures or captains.

    Looks like somebody from EA revoked your GA key which resulted in those creations being deleted from the Spore servers. This is the only thing I can think of, you could snoop around your e-mail to see if EA sent you an E-mail a while back saying they've revoked the key?

    Other then that, I think live chat is your only option to dispute it.

  • Actually, I just never shared any of my captains or created any adventures. Well, alright. I'm off to the EA Chat thingie again.
